May 5, 2009 Business Meeting

6:30 Social

7:00 Meeting called to order

Attendance: Paula Hatten, Kathy Servian, Stacey Layman, Cecilia Bowen, Stacey Layman, Lindsey Lilley, Tomi Demyon, Bobby Alt, Erin Everly, Mindy Cummins, Deanna Palmer.

Ice breaker to introduce new members

Treasurer's Report was given by Paula Hatten

Project proposals for 09-10 league year were presented and voted upon:

Fundraisers:
Pampered Chef Cooking Show (voted for 8 to 1)
Premiere Jewelry Party (voted for 8 to 0)
New Year's Eve Dinner Dance at Field Club only (voted for 8 to 1)
Mother Daughter Tea (voted against 8 to 1)
Fairmont Finds Sale (voted for 7 to 2)

Community Service:
Child Watch (voted for 9 to 0)
Silent Witness (voted for 9 to 0)
Kids in the Kitchen (voted for 9 to 0)
Literacy Project (voted for 9 to 0)
Saturday A.M. Live (voted for 9 to 0) to be held Oct 09
Pajama Party donations of pajamas for Bartlett House (voted for 9 to 0)

Board Retreat will be attended by Paula Hatten and Deanna Palmer

Saturday a.m. Live meeting will be held May 11th at 8:30 pm via e-mail

Paula Hatten announced that she and Nan Branch will be meeting with an accountant to get the League financials up to date for the year

Tee-shirt and Polo shirts are being priced out at the Op Shop ($13/polo shirt) and we are double checking to see if these are embroidered. The Winner's Choice quoted a $8 embroidery fee and polo shirts will cost $8-30 each.

New Business

Fairmont Finds sale is coming up first week of June. Stacey Layman will contact Fairmont General to reserve a location

The Pampered Chef party will be held June 15th at 7 pm. Cecilia Bowen is going to confirm a location asap.

Our annual meeting will be held May 30th at 11 m at Westchester Village. We will hold our meeting at 11 am and have lunch at noon. Sharon Hesse is obtaining price information. All chair members should prepare a report on their projects during the year for the official record.

Deanna Palmer is obtaining information on the cost of having a Junior League website set up and maintained. She is obtaining information from Digital Cheetah, Closure Ware. The website will contain past offers, upcoming events, current offer, agenda, contact information, etc.

The JL of Fairmont bylaws were updated and voted in unanymously at the meeting. The following changes were made: changed membership sustainer status qualification to 6 years of active service and removed age qualification, removed section on miscellaneous fees (transfer fees, alte fees), eliminated inaccurate committee information.
